Patrik Doucet

Patrick Doucet holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and has worked as an Associate Professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department of Sherbrooke University, Canada since September 2000. The Department’s principal field of expertise is in product development processes. Patrick specialises in design methods and tools focused on the integration of aspects of occupational health and safety.

Patrick teaches courses in design methodology, creativity and occupational health and safety within the Mechanical Engineering Department. He is also a member of the Department’s supervisory team for major design projects, and has carried out several pedagogical innovation projects within various contexts. Patrick is also a contributor to the Canadian Design Engineering Network (CDEN).

The Network's current concerns relate to heterogeneous design teams (of engineers, machine operators, mechanics and electricians) cooperating in pursuit of solutions in the area of health and safety. For this purpose, Patrick undertook further studies in the form of a Ph.D. in education ( Sherbrooke, Canada) and a doctorate in Information and Communication Sciences (UTC, France).
